Privacy Policy

OChemNinja ("we," "us") is operated by Adam M. Azman, Ph.D. This policy explains what information the OChemNinja practice site collects, why, and the choices you have. It works together with our Terms of Service.

1. What we collect

Practice telemetry. When you use the practice tools we record the ink strokes you draw, how the recognizer read them, the problems you attempted, your answers and whether they were graded correct, timing, which practice pages you opened (including the website that linked you to us, by domain name only, and any campaign tags in the link), your input type (pen, finger, touchpad, or mouse), and coarse device information such as screen size, browser family, language, and time-zone offset. This is tied to a random key stored in your browser and, if you are signed in, to your account. We may also save unfinished drawings when you start a new problem, clear the canvas, or leave without checking.

Account information. If you create an account: your email address, a securely hashed password (we never see or store the password itself), your first name if you choose to give it, whether you opted in to email updates, which devices you have signed in on (by their random browser key), and which tools you used and when.

Purchases. Payments are processed by Stripe. We receive a record that a purchase happened (the pass type, the amount, and the Stripe checkout reference) so we can activate your pass. We never receive or store your card number.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand overall site traffic. Google Analytics uses cookies and receives information such as your IP address and browser details under Google's own privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). You can block it with a browser extension or your browser's tracking protection without affecting the practice tools.

2. What we don't collect

Our own logs never include your IP address, precise location, or payment card details. We don't sell personal information, and we don't use it for third-party advertising.

3. How we use it

To run the practice tools and your account; to improve the drawing recognizer, problem generation, grading, and feedback; to fix bugs; to understand which tools help students; and to send service emails about your account (for example, password resets or a one-time notice when a pass you bought has ended). We send newsletters or updates only if you opted in, and you can opt out anytime.

4. Who can see it

Only OChemNinja's operator, plus the service providers named above (Stripe for payments, Google for analytics, and our web host, which stores the data). We may disclose information if required by law.

5. How long we keep it

Account information is kept while your account exists. Practice telemetry is kept to improve the Service over time; if your account is deleted, the telemetry is no longer linked to you.

6. Your choices

You can clear your browser's site data at any time to reset your random browser key. To get a copy of your account information or to have your account deleted, email support@ochemninja.com from the address on the account.

7. Students and age

The Service is intended for students in high school and college. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above and highlight material changes on the Service.
