About OChemNinja

Built by a Professor

OChemNinja was created by Adam M. Azman, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Instruction at Xavier University, to give students the kind of unlimited, exam-style practice they need to succeed in Organic Chemistry I and II.

After years of teaching organic chemistry, one thing is clear: students don't struggle because they lack notes, videos, or textbooks. They struggle because they run out of good practice problems — and because multiple-choice practice doesn't build the skill exams actually test: drawing.

What Makes It Different

• Draw by hand. Sketch structures with a pen, finger, touchpad, or mouse — the honeycomb recognizes atoms, bonds, stereochemistry, and charges directly from your ink, the same way you'd draw on an exam.

Open-Source Credits

Chemical structure handling is powered by OpenChemLib (Idorsia Pharmaceuticals Ltd., BSD 3-Clause license). Some pages use jQuery and jQuery UI (OpenJS Foundation, MIT license). Everything else — the honeycomb canvas, the recognizers, the problem generators, and the graders — was built from scratch for OChemNinja.
